AI Act Article 50 becomes applicable: transparency for AI systems that interact with people

What changed
From 2 August 2026, the transparency obligations of Article 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (AI Act) become applicable: AI systems that interact directly with natural persons, generate synthetic audio, image, video or text content, or perform emotion recognition or biometric categorisation must disclose this to the user.
Who is affected
Brazilian exporters and technology companies operating chatbots, customer-service assistants, synthetic content generators or emotion-recognition systems aimed at users in the European Union.
What to do
Review every AI system aimed at EU users and confirm that the AI-interaction disclosure required by Article 50 is implemented before operating in those markets.
