Does the passport keep working away from this site?

Yes. It is built on open standards and verifies against the credential itself, so the check does not depend on this site being reachable. Portable export of passports and evidence, and an encrypted backup to a separate storage location, are part of how the demonstration is built.

On European infrastructure, with an encrypted backup to a separate storage location. Evidence files are never public; the passport page shows attributes, confidence and status.

Sovereignty and portability

Proof, not promises

A public demonstration passport, clearly marked as a demonstration and carrying demonstration content rather than a real shipment, shows the product scope, attributes, confidence levels and status exactly as a real one would. The Radar and the blog track the regulation weekly from primary sources.

What AnyDPP Host does not do

AnyDPP Host does not issue legal verdicts about conformity, and it does not take over the operator's own duties: accuracy of the data, due diligence and the legal obligations stay with the operator, where EU law places them. AnyDPP Host is not the European Commission's DPP Registry and does not assume the economic operator's regulatory responsibility. It provides the decentralised hosting, preservation, evidence structure, independent backup and portability layer on which a registered DPP can operate.

Where a DPP service provider would stand

The European Commission is preparing the requirements and a possible certification scheme for DPP (Digital Product Passport) service providers, indicatively for 2027. This demonstration is not a DPP (Digital Product Passport) service provider and offers no hosting service; it is built so that the hosting, preservation and backup properties such a provider would have to show can be inspected in a working system.
