Accessibility
AnyLAI wants anylai.eu to be usable by as many people as possible, including people using assistive technology. This page explains what we aim for, what we have done, and what is still open.
Target standard
We aim for WCAG 2.2 Level AA and the relevant parts of EN 301 549, the European standard for digital accessibility.
Current state
This site has semantic landmarks, a skip-to-content link, a visible keyboard focus outline, labeled forms with text-based error messages, text alternatives for the diagrams that carry meaning, and touch targets sized to WCAG's own minimum. Automated scans (axe-core, pa11y) run against key pages in the continuous integration pipeline; a documented manual test script (keyboard-only navigation, a screen reader, 200% zoom, and a high-contrast mode) exists and is run by hand.
Listening and voice commands
Every page can be read aloud with the site's own voices (the Listen button, or Alt+Shift+R; Control+Shift+R on a Mac): the sentence being read is highlighted, every section heading has its own listen button, every image has a Describe image button that reads its text description, and the menus can be read at every level. Reading carries on with the phone locked, with play, pause and next on the lock screen, and blog articles can be listened to from the top like a podcast. Voice commands are optional (the microphone button, or Alt+Shift+V; Control+Shift+V on a Mac): say “help” to hear them. They add a way in, not a replacement for your own screen reader, and every command can also be typed. Both are also offered at the top of every page, right after the skip link.
Known limitations
A full manual screen-reader pass by a person has not been completed on every page and locale yet. We list gaps here honestly as we find them, instead of leaving them undiscovered.
Evaluation date and method
Last updated 27 July 2026. Method: automated axe-core and pa11y scans in continuous integration, plus the manual test script referenced above.

About this declaration
AnyLAI is a private, non-commercial research and development project run by one person, and on that basis is outside the scope of most obligations under the European Accessibility Act and Germany's BFSG (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz), which attach to economic activity. This page asserts no compliance with those specific laws. WCAG 2.2 AA is followed voluntarily, because it makes the site better for everyone.
